Disappointed, as it would have been a good research fit. Congrats to everyone who got in.

Same as the below post. Got rejection without interview but got interviewed from better ranking schools. I suppose it is a good thing because they are interviewing students that have relatively high prob to join. U Florida, mentioned in the post below , are one of the schools that are doing the opposite: giving campus interviews to very competitive applicants but probably too good to join them in the first place. I'm being normative or saying which way is better but each department does have different recruiting strategy.

Just a weird, quirky process from them from beginning to end, right from the first moment when they make you submit everything twice.

My personal experience: For international students that are not staying in the US, don't apply for non-top-tier campus visiting schools, like Rice, Florida, Arizona State, Penn State. Except you are super great, you would not invite you for interviews since your travel cost is much higher than others; they don't lack decent applicants anyways.

To people admitted: If you are not going to attend, please let them know asap. Thanks!

Not very cordial: I asked by email and they sent me the standard letter of rejection.

Rejected by the Ph.D. program; accepted by the master program; no word for funding...Is there any possibility to negotiate it into a funded offer??? So desperate these days..

Absolutely random decision followed my email to DGS reminding about spring recess to start in two weeks and inquiring of my admission status. I am MIzzou graduate (MA in Economics) with GPA >3.6. I do not recommend the program; it is waste of applicant's time and amount of application fee. Overall, I am not with HES/PFP admission process. Their doctoral handbook described around 6 courses as the required ones that must be taken from the economics department. Those have are passed by me with A/A- grades, and I am not sure what specific criteria they are looking into.

top2 Canadian Institution, Stats & CS major, multiple research experiences and one internship on data analyst got rejected without an interview...
