- Same as the below post. Got rejection without interview but got interviewed from better ranking schools. I suppose it is a good thing because they are interviewing students that have relatively high prob to join. U Florida, mentioned in the post below , are one of the schools that are doing the opposite: giving campus interviews to very competitive applicants but probably too good to join them in the first place. I'm being normative or saying which way is better but each department does have different recruiting strategy.
