Social Work, New York University (NYU) Letter dated 4/18. I didn't think it was a good sign when I hadn't heard from them within the 4-6 week timeframe that was specified in the e-mail saying my application was complete, but I'm going somewhere I love, so the rejection was not a big deal.

College Student Affairs, University Of South Florida $10,000 assistantship, tuition waiver, free furnished apartment, free (partial) meal plan, discount on student health insurance (if I want it) and a whole lotta work. Yippee, no more loans for me!

Computer Science, University Of Minnesota (UMN) Had to call them to get my decision, apparently it was made in late March, but somehow the website never got updated. Still a bit confused on how aid is going to work, I guess I have to wait and see.

Public Policy, Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration "The Admissions Committee has reviewed your application and designated you as an alternate for admission to the graduate program in Public Policy. This designation means that the committee has found you qualified to undertake graduate work at the University and that your application will be considered in the event that space in the program becomes available." This is my second waitlist (Georgetown/GPPI is the other), though I was not rejected from any of the schools that I applied to. I guess id doesn’t matter; I already made my decision to go back to my hometown to attend JHU where I was given a tuition scholarship of $16,000.00 per year that I never asked for.

Comparative Literature, CUNY Graduate Center Student in CUNY Honors College, Italian major (I'm American), stellar GPA, above average GRE, letters of recommendation from two CUNY full professors (also academically well-respected) that also teach as part of Comp Lit in Grad Center (they both wanted to work with me for the PhD). I didn't really want to go here, but geeze.

Materials Science And Engineering, Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT) Friday, they sent me an email notifing that my application hasn't completed and gave me the deadline on Tuesday. Now they send another email says that I didn't meet the deadline. Really disappointed with the way they work.
