Public Affairs, Columbia SIPA EMPA 2020 so my story's probably a bit different. 4.5yrs work experience post-undergrad, 8.5yrs altogether - mostly public sector: Bureau of Labor Statistics/Treasury. 3.4 undergrad & 3.5 grad in International Affairs/Economics, low GREs, strong LORs, strong work experience & pretty strong essays.

MPA In Development Practice, Columbia University (SIPA) I didn't finish my first "engineering" BA, due to political reasons. Finishing my last semester in Poli-Econ at an American school abroad. 8 years of working in research, and development. Still waiting for financial aid results

Master Of Public Administration, Columbia SIPA Graduated summa cum laude from top public uni. Strong GRE. Approximately 1.5 years of post-grad work in financial sector-oriented consulting and 7 months of post-grad nonprofit work. During undergrad, I held research assistant positions, internships with government agencies, NGOs, and financial institutions, and leadership positions within on-campus student organizations such as student government.

International Affairs, Columbia University Undergrad from a small liberal arts college in the Hudson Valley. 3.65 GPA, 165V, 162Q, 5.5W. 4.5 years of work experience at time of application. 40% tuition wager for Master of International Affairs at SIPA. Hard to say no but decided on somewhere with full funding and stipend for quality of life reasons and to not have debt in my late 30s. 9a/1r.
