Statistics, Colorado State University - Fort Collins I have fairly strong background in math. Took measure theory and proof based linear algebra. I emailed the department and they said that “ Applicants that have been recommended for admission have been contacted.†So basically a rejection. If you have not heard back from them, probably just wait till they send you a rejection letter in the next few weeks.

Mathematics, Tufts University IF YOU'RE NOT PLANNING ON GOING, PLEASE DECLINE YOUR ACCEPTANCE. Stats: No GRE. 3.41 overall GPA with 2.8 in math courses. Have a second major in Spanish and a certificate in ASL. LOTS of research experience.

Economics, Vanderbilt University University scholarship so received top-tier funding (comparable to @top 5). Background: undergrad at a reputable school, no predoc, only summer research + thesis, straight As in all math up to real analysis. Have declined offers and withdrawn apps from other schools including Emory, Duke, Northwestern, Georgetown. Liked and aimed for Vanderbilt from first day; already accepted offer. Good luck everyone!

Speech Language Pathology, CSUSM 3.7 undergrad in math/3.9 post-bacc taken at Utah State University. I did not submit GRE as it wasn't required. Missing two prerequisites. No professional experience in SLP but sat through 7 years of in home speech services with my children. Currently administer a non-profit youth sports organization.

Physics, QIS, SUNY Stony Brook Applied for quantum information Ph.D., have 4 years of astrophysics research, 1 REU, 1 nonrelevant publication, Master's in Applied Math (~3.8), plus research experience in quantum at gov't lab. Got Master's offer.

Business Analytics (MBAn), Massachusetts Institute Of Technology Really bummed. University gold medalist, dean's list, Math Olympiad winner, currently working as Senior Data Scientist at Big 4. Sold a startup for 6M, national-level chess player. Don't know what else they need. This sucks! The interview went very well and I answered all questions.

Perimeter Scholars International, Perimeter Institute For Theoretical Physics Quantum Information/Matter/Foundations - 7 months of computational research experience in a different field (nuclear engineering) - 16 months of industry internship in a different field (analog IC design) - undergrad in Engineering Physics (also achieved a math minor by taking extra courses in Mathematical Physics, Quantum Computing, and Computability Theory) - Canadian citizen - this was my top choice :(
