Economics, New York University (NYU) Invited me to apply to the newly-created master's program in Data Science. They said that although the formal deadline for the program has passed, the admissions committee will continue to consider applications until the class is filled.

Physics, UC Davis I asked them to inform my admission status 10 days ago, and they replied me this morning "You are on a wait list". It does not matter because I am not going to Davis anyway. They also says, "I know that's frustrating, because you will accept somewhere else by April 15. Please keep in mind that accepting an offer by April 15 does not preclude you from changing your mind based on new data received after April 15. You simply have to request the other institution to release you, and they will, because no institution would stand in the way of students who would rather be somewhere else." Hope this helps.

Information Science, University Of Michigan Applying to MSI with a specialization on HCI. Top 5 Chinese univ. Yet very poor GPA:( Strong research skills and experience. one full paper to SIAM Data Mining as co-author, and one publication to CHI 2013 as first author. Great reference letters anyway. For those who are equipped with strong research skills, stress this fairly enough on your materials. Wish you all good luck.

Clinical Psychology, University Of Missouri - Saint Louis (UMSL) Personal email from DCT saying that I'm an alternate with 50% chance of admission (data from previous years). She asked if I wanted to withdraw my app or stay in consideration. I chose the former.
