Do you think this time the admissions are more hard? Is there an effect of Covid and people have applied more in number for Phd economics for Fall 2022?

Ignore WL. Does anyone have a point of reference for when NSF GRFP decisions are usually released? They say early April, but I seem to remember it is sometimes March... thanks!

Heads up to all (especially European) PhD hopefuls who see this in the future - Only apply to a US PhD if you did a Predoc. Had chats with multiple professors who know both sides of the lake and a predoc is pretty much a requirement now. Safe yourself the fees - I wish I'd have gotten this advice before spending hundreds of bucks (I got rejections from all US places, but accept from 4 good European schools, 2 pending, so I guess there is defo truth). A thesis is NOT a replacement apparently...

Jesus, how are some of you so insufferable and elitist? We're studying economics, not curing cancer. Get over yourselves. Congrats to everyone who got in this cycle, that is an achievement to be proud of. Don't let obnoxious internet users ruin your day.

TPB: If you are going to MIT, then it beats me as to what the heck are you doing on this forum anymore. LRM or HRM institutions, it doesn't matter, those are their achievements and could be helpful to report here for others. And if people were getting unemployed by going to LRM institutions then those programs wouldn't even exist in the first place with funding, my dude. But again, congratulations on MIT. Might I suggest that you revise your demand, supply theories, and IC curves before your program starts? And before you go off calling me illiterate, I am going to NYU.

FYI this forum is not a good place to help you form incoming students groups, urch is probably a good place or reach out to your program directly to get a student list. Please stop with these posts as well as where you have accepted offers, it's pretty annoying

I personally know several students who are/were holding more than 2-3 top offers until few hours ago. These feed back in a domino to lower schools. Don't lose hope yet!

What happened to the schools that are not sending their results to the waitlisted applicants till now. At least they should send out rejections

Finally accepted my lowest priority school since the four schools waitlisted me are radio silence. Glad my cycle is finally over, but I wish i got rejected already by those four schools. good luck every one. this is a sh$$y cycle for sure.

(not WL) Who is that annoying guy always asking about GRE and TOEFL scores? In the assessment of your profile these scores dont count so much, it is more relevant your experience as RA, grades and recommendations, Those scores are only cutoff.

If you are still holding multiple offers, please decline them ASAP!! It's already the 15th and there's still no information from multiple colleges

At this point, how reliable is the message that says "the top of the waitlist"? It seems that some departments sent out such message to almost everyone : (
