Accepted off of the waitlist. Will be attending!

To offer holders: Anyone accepted after the first round in January? I saw a post with a funding package for 4 years(2-5). Is it unlikely for applicants accepted off wait lists to get fully funded offers for 5 years?

Generic Rejection email ( We regret to inform you that we can't offer you a place blablabla ... ). I don't think that international students are welcome to this university.

Didn't expect to be waitlisted, which is a great news! I have to notify whether to accept their acceptance by April 15, assuming that some admitted students will not accept the offer.

Received email stating they are no longer offering admissions to candidates who were rejected from the PhD application, formal letter will be sent 4/15

Got my second admission and one that I can take. As I stated just below (in OSU admission) the same Lacey Siefers of Purdue who said I have not got admission writes stating "I am excited to inform you that the Department of Computer Science at Purdue University is recommending you for admission to the MS program beginning fall 2021. You will receive your admission message from the Graduate School through the electronic application system in a few days. " So for those who ask these schools whether they have been rejected, they simply state that you are not in accepted pool, so must be reject, but later like me can get the admit as the many applications including yours might be in processing. SO UNTIL YOU GET A REJECT ONE SHOULD WAIT. Also in my case, much against my dad's advice I chose to apply well in advance and so Purdue was my first application on Oct 15 followed by OSU in a few more days. I get Purdue almost a month after the first round. My third application in end Oct was UCSD and I am assuming I might again get it. EVERYTHING seems to be LIFO and not FIFO unless ofcourse like OSU all admits are sent out in a group. Along with the Purdue good news, I got a reject from GA. That means top 10 colleges (4 applied) all reject. Maybe my experience (just passed out in 2020 Aug) was not sufficient though I seem to have scalped something out by decent CGPA and a few Intl. Publications. Happy that I will hopefully fly out as Purdue is fine and I am more or less going to take it though I might wait for UCSD and for WiscMad PMP. Anyone has suggestions among these three can please respond. Two more awaited are UNC and PennState. All the best to other applicants.

[NOT WL] Has anyone heard back from columbia Econ masters? i saw a couple of rejections back in Feb but nothing else..

I was emailed at 5:50 AM CDT this morning. I applied for the MS degree, but received two offers. One is an acceptance for MS only with no guaranteed funding (unless I secure an RA). The other is a PhD acceptance with a five-year funding guarantee (larger monthly stipend for year 1 for 11 months, really good monthly stipend for year 2-5 for 9 months). This second offer doesn't commit me to continue in the PhD program after I finish the MS (no penalty for leaving after MS, although I would probably finish the PhD personally). Not what I initially applied for, but really tempted to accept the second offer, this was definitely worth the long wait. Super excited! Good luck to the rest of you!

First admit after applying for various schools starting October 2020. Will not take OSU as there is no funding provided and it is not worth the price. From tier 2 Indian (top state) college, 9.65 CGPA, 4 International conference/Papers and 2 in offing. Had rejects from Wis Mad, Princeton, UIUC. Purdue when asked over email stated on 3rd March, "I have sent the positive notifications for the MS program. Unfortunately, you are not being recommended for admission at this time. Official rejection notification will go out in the electronic application portal system in early April." Also collected a reject from UT.

I would say that you should hear back between now and June. German universities are not known for being particularly fast in their decision-making process and it also comes down to how competitive you are as a candidate. More competitive candidates seem to get their admits sooner and the middling candidates a bit later. But, chin up, because Mannheim is solidly good school it competes for PhD students that also apply to places like Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, the Ivies, etc. and it just doesn't have the name recognition. Also, compared to other European schools (like Gothenburg, Leiden, Aarhus, etc.) they pay their PhD candidates surprisingly little (only €1,250 per month I think). So, it's possible if not probable that if you don't hear back soon you may still get in because Mannheim just doesn't have the same name recognition/resources to always attract the wunderkinder.

Received an email stating “a decision has been made regarding your application for admission” and to log onto account. Under status it stated “department refused” in the letter it stated that my entrance average was not high enough. Good luck everyone!

[Ignore WL], Does anyone have any idea when the results will be declared. Do we assume a mass reject this year or do we have any chances? McGill is taking forever to release these decisions.

Folks who are not planning to accept please decline your offer as soon as possible. I'm on waitlist and eagerly waiting for acceptance. please

Ignore the waitlist. I still have not heard back, and it still states 'No Decision Yet' on My File. Has anyone heard back?
