- I was emailed at 5:50 AM CDT this morning. I applied for the MS degree, but received two offers. One is an acceptance for MS only with no guaranteed funding (unless I secure an RA). The other is a PhD acceptance with a five-year funding guarantee (larger monthly stipend for year 1 for 11 months, really good monthly stipend for year 2-5 for 9 months). This second offer doesn't commit me to continue in the PhD program after I finish the MS (no penalty for leaving after MS, although I would probably finish the PhD personally). Not what I initially applied for, but really tempted to accept the second offer, this was definitely worth the long wait. Super excited! Good luck to the rest of you!
