Received Interview invitation on Feb 28, then received email on March 4, “After further careful consideration by the admissions committee and due to the competitive nature of the program, we will not be moving forward with your application. Unfortunately, this will cancel your interview tomorrow, Wednesday March 5th. You will be receiving an official communication regarding the status of your application before the end of the week.” Got decision on Mar 5

3.96 M.S. GPA. Twas a stretch lol.

4a/3w/7r/1p. For perspective: I have perfect grades, a master's degree from a relatively prestigious department, and several publications in well-respected journals. So, if you're facing lots of rejections, don't be discouraged! Even excellent philosophers face lots of rejections.

It’s the PhD and the university I dreamed of and worked so hard for my entire life... The university just notified me that they rejected me after a long process. All the effort, dreams, and merits have just gone to waste. I knew opening this email would hurt, but I didn’t expect it to hurt this much. I see my life up until now passing before my eyes, and I feel like none of what I did made any sense. I am devastated. What a heartbreaking experience T.T. How painful it is to think that they could have considered merit and dreams. My congratulations to those who were accepted.
