General email from DCT about being on waitlist. Congratulations to everyone who got their offers!

I applied with a B.A. in Psychology & Crim. Justice & an M.S. in Forensic Psychology.

I am so confused. I recently got this email from DM. I choose him and KH as PI’s. DM’s email reads: Thank for your email. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer you an interview for our PhD Program. We received 275+ applications for one PhD slot, so it was unbelievably competitive. I hope it’s some consolation to know that we were impressed with your application. Given the strength of your application, I hope you end up with some choices for graduate school. I wish you the best, and I hope to see you in the field one day.“ Then today I received this from the coordinator “Interview invitations have not been distributed yet. You will be contacted if the department decides to proceed.” Portal has not been updated….

Interviews were 1/24 and 1/27/25

Canadian applicant. No email, checked the portal.

Was sent an email saying my Application Status Page was updated and rejection letter was there.

Canadian applicant; invited to open house (Jan 31) too.
