Computer Vision, MSCV (Computer Science), Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) - Robotics Institute Disappointed. Apparently there were just 20 admits because of the deferrals. Deferrals are playing a huge role this season and affecting admissions. And, its surprising that the email states that there were only 350 applicants, last year it was 670. No clue how it fell down

Robotics (MSR), Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) - Robotics Institute TTPB: To those who got waitlisted for MSR and are wondering about the waitlist statistics. I mailed the program with three questions: 1. Waitlist rank/number 2. Number of waitlists awarded 3. Admit conversion rate. This was the reply: "Unfortunately it’s hard to predict how many offers, if any, we will make to our waitlist. We’ve been on every end of the spectrum with the use of the waitlist and this year brings additional uncertainty so it’s impossible for me to guess. We do indicate that we hope to have all decisions to those on the waitlist by April 6th. We hope this gives individuals time before most April 15th decision deadlines. My apologies but this is the only information I have regarding the waitlist at this time. We appreciate your patience."

Robotic Systems Development, Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) - Robotics Institute Got an email that I was waitlisted. To the others who got the same email, I wonder if you know these 2 things : 1. how many people get an accept on an average based on previous stats? 2. Should we be asking our "rank" or "position" on the waitlist in case there is one?

Masters, Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) - Robotics Institute TTPB: MSR students has no funding from the program itself. This is depending on your future advisor, but MSR students can get tuition support and stipend if your supervisor has enough funding. (PhD students are always more prioritized than masters students regarding funding... so it might be better to get outside scholarship or fellowship just in case) Generally, you need to pay all the fees in the first semester because your supervisor is not determined just after you get in. If you are a luck guy interned at CMU RI before and your supervisor has already decided to hire you, you may not need to pay tuition at all, but still it depends on the person.

I was wondering whether anybody got funding offers along with their acceptance emails? I remember reading from somewhere that the acceptance offers can be updated until March 31st with funding offers but wanted to know if anyone has received this already

Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) - Robotics Institute MSCV. My friend surves as program committee in MSCV at CMU. This year we only admit less than 20 people because too many students defer their registration last year. Also, you need to rank less than 50 among all of the applicants to get a chance into the waitlist. Sorry for any inconvenience.
