TTPB: I am unsure specifically how Northwestern's Political Science program handles things, but in my experience it is not uncommon for PI's to reach out to applicants personally for a chat/interview (even if the program doesn't *officially* interview applicants). For example, in December I was interviewed by a faculty member (at a different university) despite that program explicitly stating that there are no interviews throughout the application process.

For those who believed the claim of interview with Ian Hurd, here is the message I received : "we have not yet sent out ANY decisions, and we do not invite students for interviews before or after admission. We're in the process of reviewing files; we expect that all decisions will be out before the end of February." I honestly feel pity for people who come here and just post spam. Thanks.

TTPB: as far as I know there is no interview in application process. is it new for this cycle? did they tell you that you arr admitted or something?

Interview request from POI mentioned in my SOP (Ian Hurd), IR focus. Interview scheduled for Feb 12.

TTPB: I have applied too. My portal says it is under committee review. My application was waived automatically. I have sent them an email to check status. I see two already got an email for interview!

hey everyone! did you hear anything from the department? if yes and considering that I heard nothing, does that mean I am rejected? I guess if I got in, they would have contacted me earlier. :(

GPA is Grad; Expected as the department wasn't the best fit, but at least they sent a nicely worded letter. Only hurts a little as I have no acceptance yet, but I'm not going to let a another potential failed application cycle get me down. I have better back up plans this time around. 0a/ 6r/ 3p
