No GRE taken. 3+ years research experience beforehand, including 1 year as an RA for a private consulting company and 2 years at an associated research institute.

Because this was the application I spent the most time on, this news kind of sucks. Alas, I expected a rejection. Good luck to everyone else!

It says in the email that many with strong qualifications were denied due to limited space. Congrats to those who are accepted!

Offered to be considered for the Master of Science degree instead ( I also noted it's a possibility in application if PhD isn't available).

Masters GPA was 3.8. Really good letters from well known professors and supervisors from work. Applying after 2 years of solid professional experience. Most likely rejected for low undergrad GPA and lack of research alignment with faculty. I was deciding between applying to Epi and Behavioral, and probably should have gone with Behavioral. Also didn't reach out to any faculty before applying.

Not sure if this is a really informal interview but the department sent a $25 gift-card for us to buy food to stay past the invited info-session. In their email, they described it as the next part of the admissions process.

8 publications (4 first author), 1.5 year RA, 3 strong RLs.

Epi methods track. 3 publications in top medical journals (not first author), 1 conference paper; courses in undergrad maths/statistics; master from top public health school; one strong rec letter from math professor; 3.5+ years working experience as statistician in academia.
