First official rejection, was expected because the fit wasn't great. 3A/1W/1R/2P

Interviewed last week with 14 others, they said they would select 5-6 people. I am miffed at the reasoning they gave that I wasn't clear about the research question/methods I want to use, but if I was, why would I be doing a PhD and 2 years of additional coursework over having 2 masters? GPA is grad. Could have been anyone honestly. 1a/2r/7p

I interviewed along with 14 others last week, they said they would select only 5-6 people. Faculty meetings went great, but the interview went okay-okay. Honestly, it could have been anyone. I was the only one applying for the joint degree in Political Science. I am miffed at the reason they gave that I wasn't clear about my research question/methods that were feasible, but if I was completely clear, why would I be doing coursework and applying for the program at all? GPA is grad. 1a/2r/7p
