Yes, they took the interview before sending an offer. If you haven't recieved anything as of now, it's very unlikely you'll get anything now because they usually take 20-25 interviews and send 7-8 offers and keep rest waitlisted. If this lost of 25 is over, then next round of people will get request. Given a very tough year, it's unlikely that people will reject this offer. But anything can happen IMHO!!

Finally, first acceptance after 8-9 rejections. GPA is grad. Three very strong letters, one letter writer is Houston Econ PhD Alum. Will wait for better offers. Congratulations to others who got accepted.

However, due to the financial impact of the Covid pandemic, we are not authorized to admit anyone with funding from the School this year. We do, however, expect to assemble a very strong incoming class consisting of individuals who will have outside funding initially and the Department will use its internal funds to support most students starting in their second or third year in the program.
