Graduate School Admission Results

The second offer of the main application program in the application season is from the Paris Institute of Political Studies! I have dreamed of attending this school since middle school, and I know how many politicians, diplomats, and social scientists who have influenced the continent and the world have come from this top-tier institution. After I chose political science as my undergraduate degree, I realized the importance of political science in Paris. With the encouragement of my undergraduate graduation teacher, I decided to apply for the Master of Political Science by Research, which is one of the most prestigious disciplines and programs at Barclay's. I was very fortunate to be able to apply for the Master of Political Science by Research. After that, I was lucky to meet a senior who was studying in the same program at BaZheng, and under his guidance, I completed a substantial revision of my documents, and also contacted a professor at Tsinghua for a letter of recommendation on my internship, which added more bricks to my application. The rejection letter was so nice. So was UW Madison's. This is my 5th rejection so far, including 3 from programs that I thought were a perfect fit. And you know what; it helps to get a respectful letter. CUNY posted my rejection without even notifying me until days later and UCLA's email was a terse form letter. It takes so little to write a thoughtful rejection email that shows respect for us, yet the impact is huge. I'm a returning student and I've had a long career. It's rude and bad business when companies/schools don't bother to be respectful to candidates/students who don't get the job/admitted. I think this cycle is bust for me. But I'll definitely reapply to UW Madison and UM Ann Arbor when I try again next year. I'll think twice about the other schools because I suspect they revealed something bigger about their school culture and attitudes with their lack of communication and dismissiveness. Noted!

This is my top choice, so I'm thrilled! Had a zoom call earlier letting me know about my admission and I just got the official letter.

Woof. Master's with a 4.0 and research experience. This is the last application for me for the next few years due to circumstances, with my strongest application and writing, so this one hurt. Good luck, everyone.

Submitted before the priority deadline, it still took a lot more time than expected. I have three publications, and have some experience working at professor's labs. Guess the wait was worth it.

I have my interview and it seems like it went well. Professor offered me the Teaching assistantship and also talked about other scholarship at the end of January. Still now reply about the decision. Anyone hear back from them?
