Notes: The rejection letter was so nice. So was UW Madison's. This is my 5th rejection so far, including 3 from programs that I thought were a perfect fit. And you know what; it helps to get a respectful letter. CUNY posted my rejection without even notifying me until days later and UCLA's email was a terse form letter. It takes so little to write a thoughtful rejection email that shows respect for us, yet the impact is huge. I'm a returning student and I've had a long career. It's rude and bad business when companies/schools don't bother to be respectful to candidates/students who don't get the job/admitted. I think this cycle is bust for me. But I'll definitely reapply to UW Madison and UM Ann Arbor when I try again next year. I'll think twice about the other schools because I suspect they revealed something bigger about their school culture and attitudes with their lack of communication and dismissiveness. Noted!
