Accepted off the waitlist! Will not be accepting as I've already taken a spot elsewhere

i took a one gap year after uc berkeley (gpa is undergrad; no gre). i was called on feb 1 by the interim ethnic studies graduate advisor and informed of the decision. i received an email later in the day with the offer letter and the portal was updated to reflect the decision that night. 6 applicants were accepted overall. stats so far: 1r, 1w, 4a, 1p.

Hi - no interview, but posting to see if anyone else hasn't heard anything yet? I haven't received a rejection like other posters and haven't seen anyone admitted yet.. has anyone been admitted or waitlisted? Thank you!

Unfortunately, this may result in not being able to accept many applicants who are capable or have the potential of excellent academic work. Bummed but not surprised!

Hurts to pay $135 to get rejected, but I'm accepting elsewhere so meh. 3a/1w/1r/3p
