Low-key expected, not great CG+LORs but good university and a decent background in Quantum Computing.

GPA 1.07/1 with 160 ECTS finished in 4 semesters at the time of the application. 2 faang internships, no research experience. LoRs from professors I'm good friends with and that know me well, but they're relatively new to the academia.

High GPA from a medium-size university in Italy. In my opinion: pretty decent SoP, one strong LoR, one good LoR. No internship but I am involved in some pseudo-research experience with my final thesis project. In the end I think GPA and a good match of ETH's BSc courses with mine have been decisive. Done "Automation Engineering" BSc at top italian uni. GPA 28.15/30. Won double-degree scholarship to go to extra-eu country. One good LoR and the other exceptionally good. 1 year experience as research assistant at said uni (making one paper too). GRE not taken
