Generic rejection e-mail.

Generic "Dear Applicant".. disappointed but was expecting it given interviews were conducted some time ago and I was not invited for one. Really surprised to see that many people DO NOT get into these programs directly from undergrad - shocked with how competitive counselling psychology is experience wise.. not only do you need amazing grades, good references and a strong letter, you also need 2-3 years MINIMUM of experience based off of everyone who says they have gotten an interview (some people have 5-7 years and an additional masters). For anyone looking to apply for Fall 2022 Counselling Psychology or Psychotherapy - prepare yourself, it is EXTREMELY difficult to get in. Good luck to those still waiting!!

Canadian. 4.0 MA average. Fully funded.

Had a feeling that I was going to be waitlisted seeing as my GPA was right at the cusp of the cutoff. Received an email from the program head saying that if spots open up they'll take me.

No reason. Don't really know are they really recruiting students.

Ideal supervisor - email that I will be sent a letter this week with funding info but guaranteed TAships for 2 years (on top of whatever else they give me)

I emailed them this week. They asked me if I were interested in the master's program since there is no one to supervise my project!

Disregard waitlist: Is anyone else still waiting to hear back from McMaster's English PhD?

Received an email confirming my acceptance. Offered a $10,000 graduate scholarship and a $11,687 TA position.

Canadian (domestic) applicant. Accepted via email, unofficial offer with official offer to come in the next two weeks. ~$100K in funding over four years, before SSHRC. Combination of dept. scholarship, OGS, full TAship. Will be working with supervisor of choice. Currently hold a 3.9 GPA in MA also at Mac (will complete this summer prior to entry into PhD), 3.9 GPA in undergrad from Carleton University.
