Graduate School Admission Results

I got my first interview on April 1 and my second interview on 25 April Got acceptance after 3 days I guess because i am a Saudi native i got the acceptance quickly

Got accepted last year, couldn't travel, so I requested to be deferred and it was granted. Now, after waiting for several weeks, I get a rejection email, it's all good though, hoping for bigger and better things.

have there been any offers at KAUST in this week ?... I have had my 2 interviews and Im still waiting for the final decision. .. results were told to be expected by the end of april .. still not all decision are out ...

To the computer science poster don't be sad. Even I applied to more than 10 schools got some admits but no funds. I just have single fully funded offer. I would advice you to knock professor next time. It really works and lot of your peers would advice you otherwise but dont listen to them. All the best and do not give up hope. Cheers :)

Screwed.....................................what shall i do ,i dont know......Its been 3 years and 6 months after my graduation......Got several admissions but with no fundings....KAUST was my last hope this year...it is been rejected!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....really become mad...............No satisfaction .... i have become almost mad......hopefully leaving studying..pray for me.

straight rejection today. Didn't get call for any interview.

I am a saudi native I don't give TOEFL or GRE my undergraduate course was in Arabic

Still waiting. No answer yet. Not even interview calls

Finally got a response to one of my emails. "The interview committee is still reviewing your application, but you should receive a decision within the next few weeks." I have a feeling I'm going to graduate before they let me know

To KAUST posters below: it's weird, it seems like I'm the only person hearing back from KAUST within a business day. If you guys ever got communication from a specific admissions person and not from the generic admissions@kaust.edu.sa email, you should try to use that. I contacted them around April 1st and they replied the next day that they're planning to release all decisions by end of April. Given their track record, I'm not trusting it though. To the person asking if KAUST is worth it - from all the sources I've read on it, students there are very happy and a good 50% of masters students stay on for PhD. On top of that they give you a lot of money (did you last year's $75K a year awards?). But yes, it's a new university and their admissions process is notoriously frustrating.

I am becoming ver annoyed at KAUST's communications. I have sent them emails with no responses, their phone number for administration office just rings. I have tried calling their number multiple times with no luck. I tried calling other numbers and the only time someone picked up they immediately hung up the phone. I am beginning to wonder if this school is really worth waiting to hear back from. If they cannot even answer the phones in the admin office how can I blindly trust their educational program. Has anyone been able to get ahold of these people??

To the poster below for Electrical Engineering: Hi, I was interviewed on Feb 13th, it was an academic one.....your interview was the first one or the second one?....what's the major of your application? :) And ya, all the best to all who still are waiting, like me.

I was interviewed March 6th, interview was just an informal discussion to get to know me better, not an academic interview and was told to expect a response by March 15th. I emailed them and was told that admissions are still reviewing applications and faculty recommendations. I am also aware that interviews have been ongoing since end of February and are still ongoing. Congrats to the students that have received final offers but, MOST students are still waiting for admissions to decide. To all my fellow posters below who are still waiting, No news might be good news, i.e. as long as you haven't received a rejection, then there is always hope of a YES! so don't lose hope yet.

In response to the Bioscience applicant below, no they have not informed me of any time frame. I have emailed them a week and a half ago without any response. I have tried calling them as well but their admissions never seems to pick up the phone or I am calling to early in their time.

To the KAUST poster below - did they inform you of when they are expecting to send the decisions now? I'm in the same boat - had 1st skype interview in mid Feb, second in person in DC with paid everything. Was also told that answer will come by the 15th, then that it would come within the past week. It seems that they are continuously failing to meet their deadlines. I'm starting to look for jobs now, don't want to get stranded with nothing if KAUST decides to let me know I'm rejected in mid May.
