Graduate School Admission Results

TTPB: I'm still waiting to hear back from SB and Irvine(SWE M.S.). I'm gonna take this as a reject from UCSD. I've gotten accepted from Davis a while back ago, I'm also american FWIW.

TTPB: Haven't head anything from UCSD, SB, or Davis. I'm an american, maybe this is a differentiation. But likely just a REJECT LOL

TTPB: I also haven't gotten anything yet, my status still says: Your application has been submitted and sent to the department for review. Applications will be reviewed after the deadline. You will receive notification of the admission decision via email and your application status on this page will be updated to reflect that decision.

TTPB ( who joked about killing themselves ): I know you're joking, but check this out: I have 6 years of software engineering experience at hedge funds and the biggest investment bank in NYC, designing efficient, low-latency trading platforms. I DO NOT have any education in computer science, I've taught myself everything. I'm looking at going 0/16 in all my grad school applications. Amazing LORs, a very true POS, decent GRE/GPA, outstanding resume. I got interviewed by Columbia and haven't heard shi* back. But don't worry, the market is solid for ppl with CS skills. 250-400 out there on the street, so even if you don't get in anywhere, go grind in the market. Its all good.

I still have not gotten any notifications or admissions decisions from UCSD. Anyone else?

I also interviewed in the second week of March and haven't heard back yet. Did they give literally everyone an interview? My interview had two attempts at each question and I bombed the first attempt for each cuz I knew I had a second one...maybe a mistake. Did any of the accepts' recommenders receive a verification email? I converted a GPA of 9/10 to a 3.48/5 ... feeling like that was a mistake...anyway, I don't have too much hope because of the large number of admits that are already out.

Is there ANY info on the research scholarships?

TTPB: Congrats to your other admissions!!! If you are going to better place than Oxford, could you please kindly withdraw your application? It might increase chance of me and others who wants the place as first shot. Thank you and good luck with your studies!

I received an acceptance around the end of Feb but haven't been able to know since then, the exact date, by when we are supposed to respond back with our decision. I even mailed Tom Hurst to check an exact date/deadline to respond back with our decision but he responded back saying anytime before the beginning of Summer instead of mentioning an exact date. Does anyone here (may have also received an acceptance from UMD) know about the exact date/deadline to respond back with our decision?

Emailed the program and got a reply that most applications have been reviewed and decisions have been made. If no email was received, it is unlikely that an offer of admission will be made.

From Email : "Thank you for your application to the Masters Program in Computer Science at the University of Chicago. There is no overt advantage in applying to one round over another, and we admit students from all three rounds. As you have applied by our Round 2 Deadline of April 3rd, you will receive an admission decision from us by our Round 2 Notification Date of April 24th"
