Graduate School Admission Results

Already got offers from two top programs, so it didn't bother me. I do want to say though that UChicago was the only program I applied to that didn't ask for a personal statement (only SoP). I was tbh a little shocked about this because it struck me as being disinterested in my personal background which had played quite a formative role in my becoming a classicist. This uninviting impression is only subjective, of course. Nonetheless, I do hope my other future colleagues who are eagerly waiting for results from UChicago can take heart if you didn't get an automated "check your portal" notification ;P!

Received invitation from the chair of the graduate admissions committee for a "recruitment event" that is set to take place over Zoom over the course of three days. No formal offer of acceptance yet, but this invitation seems to be somewhere halfway between interview and acceptance.

no funding yet

GPA from MA. Acceptance, no funding but “high on the waitlist” so possibility of that changing!
