I got an email saying I got a Conditional offer because I dont have the required language document. Once I submit the proficiency, I am in !! (Syntax)

Already replied to them that I choose to get off this waitlist since I have better-suited offers. Good luck everyone!

After receiving a rejection from Harvard I found this message in my spam folder… “ Thank you for your application to the Cornell Graduate School for the Fall 2025 term. All applications have been given careful consideration by the Field of Linguistics and we regret that your application has not been approved. Due to the high number of applications and the limited number of students who can be accepted, many strong applicants could not be offered admission. We appreciate your interest in Cornell Linguistics and wish you success in continuing your studies. I received an interview invite in late January and interviewed on the 29th of January. I received an informal email from the director.

It’s frustrating being rejected without even having an interview or an e-mail saying to check the website. I’m hoping I’ll have more chance for Cornell and Texas. Congrats to all who passed and best of luck to those applying to other universities and didn’t pass to Harvard. There’s still hope!! This is what I got from Harvard: “ After careful review, I regret to inform you that the Harvard Kenneth C. Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is unable to take favorable action on your application to the Program in Linguistics. The number of promising applicants well exceeded the number of offers of admission we can make for the 2025-2026 academic year. I know that this decision comes as a disappointment. Unfortunately, enrollment of new students is limited to a small fraction of those who are qualified for admission. I want to assure you that your application received full consideration by faculty members in the program to which you applied. We appreciate your interest in the Graduate School and wish you success in your future studies. With best wishes, Robert D. Coughlin”
