DGS email, its a new bridge program so I expected it, not too upset

I was informed by DGS that I won't get an offer. A 3.92 undergraduate GPA from a very rigorous European undergraduate program. Currently attending a prestigious MA program in Europe (gPA: 4/4). 6 years of Latin, 4 years of Ancient Greek. Fluency in German and French, 3 important conference presentations, 3 publications, out of which one is in an international collection of papers.

Will choose a US PhD due to funding. 2a/1w/1i/1r/2p

40% tuition remission

Not really surprised. Poor fit for the department considering my research interests. Still kind of stings though. 1a/1i/2r/6p.

I noticed that nobody posted any updates on Michigan but people are asking in the forum, so here's the scoop (esp. for language and literature track). I got interviewed in late January and was contacted directly by the DGS about my acceptance a few days later.

0a/0w/2i/2r/4p. UC Berkeley was my last pick and probably my worst research fit, so I'm not terribly surprised or disappointed. I also knew to expect rejection after I saw other people post on here that they had been interviewed for the program, since they didn't ask to interview me. I haven't heard any good news yet, but I'm hoping that one or both of the programs that interviewed me will make me an offer of admission soon.

Messaged by director. Prospective visit in March! For Bridge MA, carries admission into PhD program of choice following year provided good progress. Overjoyed and incredibly thankful.
