Graduate School Admission Results

I got email to check my application as a decision has been made. They wrote: "Thank you for your application to King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. With many outstanding applications from excellent students worldwide, the process was extremely competitive. In assessing applications the Selection Committee takes into consideration academic merit, personal achievements, recommendations, research, and leadership qualities. After a careful consideration of your application and supporting credentials, the Committee regrets to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission to the University. Please be assured that your application was considered with great care, as the Committee is well aware of the time and effort you spent preparing it. We wish you success in your efforts to further your education and thank you for your interest in KAUST. Sincerely"

Letter was dated for the 14th, but received email on the 23rd

Status changed from Under Review to Accepted, yet application is displaying incomplete. Any ideas guys? Hope this is not a mistake

Really depressed!!! I guess the last person who got accepted was right after all. I have graduated with distinction from NUST.

To the poster below, how did u know that u r the last person to be accepted and all what u said? Could u plz share when u had ur interviews, and ur nationality? U made many people nervous out there!

Last person to be accepted based on merit :). Really excited!!! All my friends who are still waiting for results, please note that you will be informed in early April as you have all been waitlisted. Till the end of march, interviews will be conducted. Don't lose hope…….

Called up my Prof (El Sayed) and he told me that professors have no say in admission. They only check your academic side and they recommend you for 2nd interview. So all those who have been accepted by their professors are lying (*Post below*). Many people fail the second interview which is the most critical one. My Prof knows for a fact that many of his selected students were rejected because they were not socially adaptable or up to the social standards. So good luck to all those still waiting for decision and do not be fooled by people who claim acceptance just by talking to professors.

Bizzare decision. I know some admitted students who are much worse than I am. I know them in person. Shameful!

Finally got in. Thank you prof. I owe u big time. Competition is growing up. My professor told me that this year there are many competitive students but the space is limited. Only 15 more students can be offered place from the 86 who applied for this particular course. I wish the best of luck to my future fellow classmates.
