Graduate School Admission Results

Received the email this morning.

Did not submit GRE, 9.41/10, 2 accepted publications (AAAI and WCCI), and 1 pending at BJET.

Got a generic reject email from UIUC for the MCS program. My profile - 2 years of work experience, two tier 1 HCI conference publications, +9.0 CGPA, strong LORs and a decent SOP.

MSCS program. Will join Columbia I guess

Had hopes with this one. Well, there are more results to come - stay strong people!

Rejected :/ Tier-2 Uni from India. Decent profile, but kinda expected a reject from UIUC. Good luck with other decisions everyone

3.8 GPA, ME and CS at UIUC, 3 years research experience, 1 publication, 2 strong/1 average LOR's, strong SOP, 170Q/160V/5.5... Can't say I'm very surprised, the acceptance rate is usually 4% (or lower) for MSCS

Interview from POI. Area: Data Mining. CS undergrad from UIUC, 1 publication, strong LORs from undergrad advisor, research collaborator and SWE internship host.

***Not waitlist*** Just got an email from the admission office stating that my application (MCS) is still under review. Thank you for your interest in the Master of Computer Science program at the University of Illinois, for Fall 2021. Due to the high interest in this program, our admissions committee continues the review process to ensure a thorough review of all applications. Your application remains under review as of March 15, 2021. We expect to send a decision by March 31, 2021.

Expected :)) Seems like POI recommendation and interview was very imp in getting an Admit. Anyone applying to UIUC next year should consider emailing and talking to POI before submitting application.

UIUC MCS and UMass MSCS - both have deadlines today, and I haven't heard from either. No email. No website status change. Anybody in the same boat? Seeing the UIUC bloodbath below, I am feeling like a prisoner waiting to be executed.

No interview. Applied for MS CS.

TTPB: UIUC respects the decision timelines. Last year, they sent an email informing (on 16th March) that the decisions will be out by 31st March as there was a delay. That's why you see posts till 1 April. Let's see if we get an email today with a rejection or to communicate a delay.

Did anybody get reject yet? My status is still awaiting decision and the deadline was 15th March.

Have to find my own funding, but super happy to receive an offer! 1 neurips first author.
