Graduate School Admission Results

Submitted in late February. Received email that my results came in today. Offer of admittance with some funding.

Anyone still waiting for PhD decision here? I have dropped several emails to Austin but no reply.

Full tuition coverage and a graduate teaching assistant-ship ($20,000 academic year; approx. 9 months) for the first year of study, plus the opportunity to earn an additional approx. $6,700 stipend during your first summer (approx. 3 months).

"TTPB: Are you a cs undergrad? GPA stats?" Answer: No, Major - Economics. Double Minor - Computer Science, Art History. Graduated May 2020 from small liberal arts school. GPA 3.4

I interviewed almost a month ago and have heard nothing. Is anyone else in the same boat??

Ignore WL: Anyone have any idea when we might hear? Emailed the program coordinator who just directed me back to the department website, which doesn't have many details. Should I just assume a rejection at this point?

TTPB: I applied on 1/11. My application status is the same now as then: submitted. Infer that I have been waitlisted. Emailed DGS on 4/12: was told that people offered admission had until 4/15 to decide, whereupon the admissions committee would reconvene. No word since 4/12.

5 international papers - 2 A* conferences in CV/DL 1 patent , Research internships at Corporate, Startup and Academic institutes, 1.5 years work experience as ML engineer, Strong LORs and good SOP, Nothing helped! :( Congratulations to the ones who got it! All the best for the ones still waiting.

I was rejected after being waitlisted. Congratulations to all those accepted!

Accepted to the PsyD program, then waitlisted because all the spots filled up, then later accepted and enrolled in the MS Psychology program.

Has anyone heard about the program results yet? It is too late now and I still don't have a clue.

James Mcgill doesn't freaking care about those applicants, for he used a single day turning submitted to rejected. Not much better than U of A.

TPB: I am also thinking the same. May be the students who have accepted the offers can tell if their cohort of 15 is complete

McGill CS undergrad. GPA 4.0/4.0. No research experience.

Was kind of expecting it because of my unimpressive GPA and GRE. No papers published, zero years of experience

I'm trying not to associate the rejections with my self-worth at this point. 1 year full-time research experience. 2 AAAI, 1 ICLR and 1 Springer Nature papers. 1 in review at TPAMI and 1 in review at ICCV. Strong LoRs from Google Brain and Institute Chair Prof at IIT-Bombay. 1 AI startup internship, 2 research internships at top-tier labs, 2xGSoC in AI/ML. Strong research fit with profs and several National Awards. Congratulations to those who made it!
