No GRE

I had calls in the fall with 2 potential advisers who said they would vouch for me with the admissions committee, but neither had funding. Even though I applied for external funding, I knew this was a likely outcome.

No GREs. Two brief interviews held on 02/24 and 02/28.

2 interviews. No GREs. Received an email saying there is a status update in my MIT Application Portal

The committees reviewing applications for admission to the MIT Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS) were delighted to receive so many thoughtful and carefully prepared applications from talented individuals like you. While application reviews are continuing, at this point I am able to share a partial update on your application status. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer you admission to the SES doctoral program for the 2025/2026 academic year. Please note that, per your request in the SES application, you are also being considered for admission to the Technology and Policy Program, whose reviews are still in process. TPP admissions decisions are expected by mid-March. As you might expect, resources constrain the number of qualified applicants that we can accept, and I am sorry that we were unable to offer you a place in the SES PhD program. Thank you again for your interest in IDSS's academic programs.
