Graduate School Admission Results

Not waitlist. Did anyone hear from DMSE? This year is much later than the previous year.

1.5 years of research, no GRE, no publications, 3 strong LORs, contacted POI beforehand

From the admissions portal: "Jan. 28 update: Our admissions committee has extended interview invitations to everyone we anticipate interviewing, and we have now received confirmation of receipt from all of them. We will most likely admit from this pool of applicants, but are not sending out final admissions decisions to the rest of the applicants in case the committee decides to extend interview invitations to a few more applicants. We expect to email final notifications to those who were not interviewed by March 1."

Liberal arts degree, two solid LORs, two glowing (one from a respected academic in my concentration). Three publications (including a textbook chapter), three presentations. Been in intermittent contact with POI, was even invited to tour his lab prior to application season. General rejection letter. Huge blow.

Ignore the interview. I am wondering if anyone hear anything from MIT EECS (applied to EE)? It's so silent and I didn't receive any interview/anything.

Pchem track, GPA 4.08/4.30 , no GRE, 3 summer research (1 each summer, 2 at home university in Asia, 1 overseas), no publications, 2 posters and 2 presentations at local college student conferences, 3 year experience as tutor for first-year undergrad science course, 5 good LoR (1 from renowned professor in my field)

Disappointing but life goes on. Best of luck to those interviewing.

Got interview invitation. Other requirements added in email for before the interview date

4 Conference pubs (3 accepted, 1 in-review), 1 workshop pub in top CS conference, 4 very strong LORs. Had first round of interviews, but was not invited to final interview stage in March. I was made aware by my POI that My CS/Engineering background did not match the profile that they were looking for in BCS. Grateful nonetheless, all the best to everyone else!

Undergrad gpa: 8.58/10, 3 first author papers, 4 published in total (2 under review), 4+ years of research experience after undergrad, 4 undergrad research projects, strong SOP, had amazing connection with PI. But received a mail saying extreme competition and lack of enough funds. Very very disheartened but good luck to ones who got accepted.
