Stanford University Graduate School Admission Results

Applied for Math Education PhD. Rejected a few weeks ago. Considered for master's in International Comparative Education as a secondary option, and got rejected. Idk anything about ICE so this result was expected.

Woohoo!

Unfortunately, the circumstances are unfortunate, but it will be okay. Tons of industry experience. Moderate research experience. Very strong academically. Don't be discouraged your lives are just beginning. One's loss is another's gain. Work hard to prove them wrong.

two first author papers (respected journals) in a new field, several conference papers, several non-provisional patents (two granted, others pending), founded two small hw startups (one successful), two internships, over three years research experience, two student leadership positions, two ta positions, and built a university course. Not a troll, just very busy. Strong recommenders, strong sop, and well-aligned research, but weak gpa from first two years, didn't bother with gre, and not from uc/ivy/ivy+. My gpa was probably the biggest factor by far. Stanford was my first of two choices, go big or go home. Applicant pool seems to have been rough this year, so congrats to everyone accepted!

3 years of research, first author top venue papers, 3 perfect interviews and here we are...

1 pub, 2 conferences, 1 REU, 2 yr research experience, no interview. i guess i was not a good fit and also this cycle has been really rough
