Rejected and equally as surprised as other folk. This program was a safety for me. Based on my academic record, professional experience and interviews with Brown faculty members, I was under the impression that I was a shoo-in. Anyhow, I'm not extremely disappointed as the lack of responsiveness and interest from the program staff and faculty over the past couple of months, left much to be desired from the program. I interviewed in mid-January and didn't hear a peep until yesterday when I received a decision letter. Seriously?!? We're 3 days away from April 1st. C'mon... Despite it all, I am happy to report that I have been accepted to top rank programs, including my 1st choice- so, my advice to all others who have been rejected in this application cycle (or applying in future cycles), don't adapt a defeatist attitude throughout the application process. Keep the hope alive. Good luck!

HUGGEE surprise this late in March. I got an email to check the website for decision letter. Not too upset since I got into my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice programs. "I regret to inform you that the Epidemiology, PHD program did not approve your application for admission to Brown University's Graduate School for Fall 2014."

No funding

received rejection email from the dept head this program only accepts 2 people per year so it was a long shot. still a debbie downer though.

Asked them to take me off of the waitlist, so if you're on, you've got a better chance of going!

Knew that I was staring at a reject. They don't seem to accept any students at all! Don't know what they expect!

Not my top choice, but seriously, are they really taking students for MatSc grad school? The standard is that high ah, Brown people, you think yourself MIT/Stanford? Just don't be silly...

Would have been nice if they'd kept even vaguely to their own result notification deadline.

Called after I saw the post here. Will be declining anyway since I got an awesome offer from Stanford (WOOOOO). Good luck everyone!

I hadn't heard anything and called the department. I think if you haven't heard from them yet, you should give them a call. I have no idea how much chance I still hold. Needless to say, if you are not going to take up an offer there, help some souls out.
