Direct entry. I am Canadian.

TA position given for 9 months

No information about stipend given.

Applied with interest in gravitational waves

No GRE, BSc from a small university, MSc from a well-known European university

AMO experiment.

Notified on 29th January that I have been shortlisted to an interview (between 4th and 7th February).

QIS, no GRE, no interview.

Interview lasted about an hour. It included questions about my research experience and physics questions on core classes "undergraduate level"

Emailed to check portal.

Invited to open house on Feb 28th for "final interview stage of admissions process", travel and lodging paid for. Email says admissions offers are made shortly after the open house. Qualifications: BA (3.34 GPA) and MS (3.93 GPA) in Physics, one year of post-masters research in an engineering lab, Masters thesis and two poster publications

Applied to physics (background is materials engineering), hoping to do condensed matter research. Rejected with email. I assume there is just no funding available, which is unfortunate as I really wanted this university over any others in the U.S. Been working as a civil servant at for NASA 3 years. I will likely try again next year and hopefully will be more lucky.

One of my top choices but after hearing that there are 900+ applicants this year I already mentally prepared. Had an interview online discussion with interested POI before submitted the application though. Whatever, their loss.
