It seems that you have to contact your poi yourself and if you can not manage to find an advisor, you will be rejected. It is just a waste of money.

MASc Full Funding

Did not complete an application due to the omission of one LOR. Received a mail asking if I'd like to be considered for MS admission.

I am a US student. A professor contacted me early this week about interviewing for a position in his lab. However, I have declined the interview because I already have committed to a PhD program at Georgia Tech. Subsequently, I withdrew my application from University of Maryland. I hope another PhD applicant at University of Maryland gets an offer. Good luck!

I am a US student. No publications but have research experience across multiple labs, since the summer after my freshman year. I am a bit disappointed but given how late it is was not suprised.
