I don't really understand why Purdue would reject me. I have a 4.0 GPA, tons of experience as an English TA, Writing Assistant, and English tutor, a study abroad experience at Oxford, a strong writing sample, strong rec letters, etc. I'm so surprised. The only reason I can think of is the fact that I didn't go to a big-name school for my undergrad. Anybody else surprised?

Got a call this afternoon telling me the adcom was very impressed by my app and could offer me a sizable funding package for all 6 years!!! Was also invited to an accepted students weekend at the end of Feb. They said the official letter is going to be sent out within the next few days. I'm speechless! First acceptance for this round and I'm over the moon. :)
