Computer Science Graduate School Admission Results

Had an interview with the professor in early January.

University of Waterloo grad, no conference papers, one undergraduate research experience in an unrelated domain of computer science, many internships. Rough cumulative GPA due to a couple of terms where I really struggled with completing schoolwork, due to external sources. Not very surprised at the result. Honestly, if anybody has any advice for how I can turn my chances next time I apply, despite not being able to change my GPA, I'd love to hear it in the comments.

Got an email to check status on web portal. Standard rejected letter. From one of the IITs in India. Major in electronics. Interest in Theoretical CS. Four conference papers, one journal publication. GPA: 9.23/10. Didn't get any interview call. So kinda expected rejection anyways.

Email to check status update, which was standard rejection. Got interview, but I suspect faculty thought I would be a better fit for a non-CS department due to non-CS background and my interests.

Second-tier IIT, 9.52/10 GPA, 1 publication as the first author at A* Conference. No mail, found a status update at the application portal :(

Stings! I go to a Top 5 CS college (known mainly for CS) in the United States. 1+ year research with no publications, glhf all! Hope admitted students have a good time at Yale

1 year of research, 1 paper, and 2 FAANG internships. Feel like I got filtered by GPA (< 3.5) and they didn't really consider the rest of my profile. Oh well feeling a tad depressed today.

hate yale, im going to attend cmu instead. wanted to go to IV school but guess its not for me
