No Email. Just one line on the portal stating Admission denied after review.

Tuition waiver, GA with stipend, award 3000$ per semester

Got an email saying I was recommended for admission and to expect an official letter soon.

did not take GRE, which I think is a great factor in my rejection. 3/4 of my applications were rejected. Now waiting for York.

Got an email to check the portal. Checked the portal and found a generic rejection message.

Generic Rejection Message from UBC, come on mate, if this had to be done, you could've told us in April itself. Had hopes on this one, but welp.

Honestly, UBC, if you want to reject an application, you should let the applicant know as early as possible. I could have applied for the study permit a month ago for another university but was waiting for this decision, it turns out, for no reason.

Very generic reject. Pretty sad as it was one of my dream universities. Not having LORs from profs familiar with the UBC faculty might have hurt my chances given that UBC admission process is LOR centric. Best luck to the rest who are still waiting!
