Computer Science Graduate School Admission Results

Received an email from a professor I mentioned in my SOP. He said that my application was ranked very highly, and that due to the low number of admissions, they "interview or follow up on all candidates before admission". So excited!

Interview with PoI in the field of ML/NLP

First Class, 10 research publications as an undergrad, many national and international awards. So excited! Waiting for scholarship results :)

How was the interview for UIUC, Ph.D..Was it technical? or Was it a discussion about the past works and an interaction. Guys who already interviewed, please answer

POI mailed me about the interview in the morning and I had an interview on the very same day. Area: Systems

Had 2 informal Skype meeting, the second POI is willing to give me an RA. Area: HPC systems. 2 Publication in submission. Seems the POI's recommendation to the committee is also important

Can you narrate how was your interview experience with UIUC for CS Ph.D? Would be of much help

Got an email from prof saying my application looks "encouraging" but they think ECE would be a better fit since I want to do architecture research. They are moving my application over to ECE dept now

Funding is a big issue.
