Economics Graduate School Admission Results

To the poster below: I was emailed saturday night to see if I was still interested then sent the acceptance last night around 7pm. Gpa is undergrad, econ math dual major.

Rejected off the waitlist

Reached out to someone at the school because I need to make a decision about where to go and was waiting to hear back. I (and anyone else who has yet to hear back) are on a waiting list until those who received first round offers reply back. Their deadline is April 15. We should know something afterwards. I see there is a rejection below. Although I do not receive a rejection email, I heard from the director that they may not make offers for waitlist students this year. So sad. WUSTL is a good place I really want to go.

They can only admit 15 students out of the 400+ applicants pool...

Admitted off the wait list after receiving confirmation of external funding for the first 2 years.

Has anyone not heard from them yet? Is it an implicit rejection?

People who applied for the terminal master's program (first preference) have you heard anything yet ? I submitted my app around 10th march haven't heard anything!

I got my rejection only yesterday, that was my first email from their side. Since I did not get a rejection earlier, does that mean I was in the waiting list/ had a good rank among all candidates? Pls help, this information can help me evaluate my future prospects of admission.

Houston vs UCR . Can you help me choose between the two? Research area wise I am interested in macroeconomics and growth, particularly theoretical Macroeconomics. Other inputs will be useful as I am an International candidate.

Anybody knows if there is still some hope to get admitted off the waitlist? Last year, there were 8 admits plus 3 from the waitlist, this year there have only been 6 admits posted so far?!

I was only referring to the decisions posted on GC over the last three years, and thereby assuming that the proportion of people who post their results here is somewhat constant. Sorry for the confusion, I don't have any inside information, unfortunately.
