Graduate School Admission Results

Accepted off the waitlist!! So excited to move out of Illinois (:

After hearing nothing even though the April 15 deadline had passed, I checked the website to find this mysterious notification: "A decision regarding your application has been reached." However, the decision wasn't available on the website. The site just directed me to contact the department. I didn't really want to because the late date made me pretty sure it was a rejection, and I didn't want to call them just to have them tell me in person that I was rejected. So, I waited for the department to at least send me a form letter. I'm still waiting. I e-mailed the DGS yesterday and am still awaiting a reply. I'll update if I hear anything.

Still waiting to see from other schools

I have been accepted to a couple of schools but I am having a hard time picking between Lehman and adelphi. Can people share their personal experiences or opinions on both of their programs. Thank you so much.

To everyone waiting to hear back from SHU, They have accepted 40 students so far (thats how many they plan on enrolling).. So if you haven't heard anything from them, then you're on the "unofficial waitlist". They're waiting to hear back from those students before they accept more people. That is why they're taking so long and being so vague when we call to inquire about our application status. If you have other opportunities, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to go ahead and accept since we don't know where we are on this "waitlist" or when we should expect to hear back. Hope this helps.

Sent an email to the Admissions Coordinator asking when we should hear (it has been 10 weeks and they told us 4-6). She emailed back saying I was accepted and should get my official email soon.

Poster below... do you know any community for KAUST applicants to communicate their status or you communicate with peers in a personal bases?

To the poster asking about NYU vs NYMC.. NYU is ranked higher than NYMC. NYMC is a smaller program than NYU. At NYU you might have more flexibility in picking your classes/ schedule and you definitely won't at NYMC. You have the same schedule as everyone in the program class 2 days a week and clinical 2-3 days. I've heard at NYU there are more options for clinical placements, and you are more likely to get the one you want than at NYMC. I think NYU is a better more well rounded program than NYMC bc most of NYMCs emphasis is on medical whereas NYU focuses more equally on all clinical settings. I'd go NYU :) Best of Luck!!
