Applied to the joint Poli Scie Intl Affairs program. notified via email today at 10 AM (PT) that the committee decided not to select me and instead they are advising me to apply to their master's program. It is odd as I see no one else claiming to receive such an email.

Had a lukewarm interview. IR and Methods. Fit wasn't great

Surprised, given I was accepted to every other program I applied (including Ivies). Graduated in '19, work experience not relevant to degree. No publications or significant research experience.

submitted my application 11/30/2021 and I have not heard the result until today, 04/15/2022. I was told to wait few more weeks and I took it as a rejection. Ridiculously long and brutal process.

This refers to the MRES/PHD in Economics and Management. I just wanted to post this for future applicants in the next cycle to have a clear picture of the time frame of the decisions on this new program. I put it as my first choice (not regular Econ, and they liked it). I was invited to an interview on the 28th of Jan, which occurred on the 7th of Feb. I was initially told they were going to make their decisions very shortly but then I got an email saying even though I was a strong candidate they received a new batch of applications that they were reviewing (people rejected in Econ). Finally, on the 12th of March, I was rejected. I got a great waitlist at a top 10 school recently so I am happy but this was quite painful. Tips for the interview...they will press you on your research proposal and they will also ask if you would be ready to accept the offer quickly. I didn't say yes seeing as the application cycle had just begun but that might have hurt my chances.

Could the admitted candidates let me know whether they will accept or reject their offer at the EUI? I'm trying to get a feel for how likely it is to move up the waitlist.

Rejected off waitlist

I am completely surprised! I was previously rejected by them and today I received an unfunded offer and was waitlisted for funding.

I will be very grateful if you have another offer and decline this one. It is my only chance for a PhD in this cycle.

Disgraceful, disrespecting, discriminatory. Didn't bother informing and myFile showed unsuccessful after keeping me waiting for months. YU produces grads that they themselves cannot accept on the ground of visa status. Otherwise, I had a solid profile and strong recommendation letters. My greatest mistake was to study here for my MA.
