Physics Graduate School Admission Results

Rejected upon inquiry for Penn state. It waste me too much time to get the result! Also, Rice University still haven't sent me the results and never replied students' emails. What an irresponsible department it is! F***!

"you are no longer under consideration" CMT. IIT. Rejected, there seems to be a pattern. What is OSU upto? Rejecting 980 international and accepting 700 domestic. Fuck you osu. Will be joining Purdue this fall. :)

To the UNH guys, status will change to ' awaiting final grad review ', which means the dept. made their decision (most likely acceptance), then you will receive decision in about 5 days, then its all New England girls and beer.

Rejected upon inquiry. From an IIT, 9/10 rejections 1 waitlist. To the IIT posters below- 'Dude just chill, it is a very competitive process and many good people no matter U, A or I have been rej. Blaming a democratically elected gov is not cool..... here, have some weed pal.'

CMT. To the ASU poster below: sorry for your experience, but I just wanna point out that it also highly depends on what field you are applying to. For Some fields e.g. hep-th, spots available in research group are very limited everywhere, so they cannot admit more students than they could accommodate (though some schools are already taking too many theory students in my opinion). Whether your research interest matches with their groups is also important. For hep-th, I know several people (A/U) with several publications were rejected almost everywhere this year. In some cases, the difference between I and A might be the chance to connect with potential advisors in American colleges. Good luck to you!

There goes 3 out of 5 schools. I seem to have no advantage in this competition. Working on a MS degree in physics, graduating in the summer. 3 years of research. Multiple conference presentations. First publication being submitted this week... You've got to be kidding me. Am I not cut out for this?

Acceptance upon email inquiry. My intended field of study is biophysics, and i have another offer from NC State University. any help guys on deciding which school is best?

Sent an email to inquire about the status of my application and they said "The admissions committee is currently making admissions decisions, so once a decision has been made about your application, we will be sure to let you know."
