TTPB: (ignore waitlist) how do you know that we are on waitlist? are you just guessing? waiting is so painful.

TTPB: I was told they would make a decision end of April on April 12th... not sure why they told us different dates...but hopefully we will hear back soon..

TTPB: Are you sure you got an admit for Computer Science MS and not MCS or Data Science MS? In their mail, they clearly mentioned that they do not have rolling admissions. I'm aware that Data Science MS decisions were out last week.

Finally

Randomly check the portal and found the result, no email notification.

TBP, was told on Apr 13 that "further decisions will not be made for some time, possible not until late summer."

I had to email them 2X in order to get a status on my application. Received an email at 3 AM today.

Final count: 5a/7r. Not too shabby.

I received an email this moring which asks me to log in to check the application decision. Then I logged in and checked the decision, which says Dear XXXX, Thank you for your application for graduate study in Biology, PHD at the University Houston. After a careful review of your application materials, the admissions committee has decided not to offer you admission. As you know, admission to graduate programs is highly selective. Our applicant pool this year was extremely competitive and our admissions committee had a difficult task in making admissions decisions. Should you wish to apply again for a future term or to a different program, please visit the prospective student section of the Graduate School website before submitting another application. We understand the time and effort it takes to apply to graduate school and we sincerely appreciate your interest in the University of Houston. We wish you the best in all your future endeavors. I was the guy who posted on March 29, and I got one interview on March 26. The interview was pretty good and the interviewer praised me and talked with me for about 40 min. Everything went well until she said you are so good and do you have offers from other universities? Then I thought I should be honest and told her I got 2 offers and the names of the universities. Then, she was not happy. After the interview, on the same day of the interview, I sent her a thank letter and she replied in an email that "you are excerllent but the competition is so fierce and you are in waitlist now". I was so sad and replied that I would accept their offer and turn down the other 2 offers if they would like to give me the offer. But this would change nothing and she suggested that I accept other universities' offers. I was so sad,really. I hope my experience could help you guys.

To the poster below, did you receive a personal response from the physics department in your rejection letter? I was told that I should reapply again next year if I didn't get into a program as I was waitlisted for this year. Sounds like another bait. 0/10. Life seems to be unfair. I just feel like dying.

TTPB: Would you please mind sharing when you got the admit/ deadline to accept the offer? It might help to get an estimate for when our decisions might be out.

Are there people who applied before December 15th and are still waiting. This is so frustrating. Any idea why it's taking so long to hear from them?
