Computers and Networks track. UK Electrical Engineering undergrad, first in the class, no GRE, one potential publication under review, a few prizes, strong recommendation letters. Good luck to everyone else!

2+ years research experience, one of which is biotechnology-based. Good GPA. Good LORs, Good SOP. Good University. The application probably was unsuccessful because I didn't have the prerequisite courses like Computer Science, Statistics II, and Organic Chemistry II. But cannot be exactly sure why.

Very good gre scores (quantitative 168, verbal 158, aw 3.5), 3.9 GPA, Excellence path, two medium strength recommendation letters. A few medals in national programming/maths competitions. Honestly surprised, thought I had no chance against people from top universities with published papers. Don't forget, all that glitters is not gold. Never lose hope!
