i wish i had been selected :(

To the person asking about Washington's notification: I believe the people (including me) who were interviewed were more recruited than interviewed. Essentially, they wanted to know if I would even go there. Nice people. However, as of this moment, I have still not received an offer, even after the DGS emailed me and the dept sent an itinerary for the visit. So, I have not idea what my funding is.

I emailed the DGS to ask whether applicants who have no interview appointment or admission are unofficially rejected. The reply is "we haven't yet sent out information about our decisions. We are aiming to get it out by the end of February". So what about the posts of admissions appear here and on other sites?

This program is only accepting who already work at IHME or have ties to them. This year the two students they accepted to the Health Metrics PhD worked at IHME for years or had a MS from UW Global Health and worked at IHME. They only accepted one PhD student to the implementation science track and that student had an MS from UW and worked previously with Health Alliance International. I was accepted this year because I know people at IHME. I think it is unethical though for them to take applications from outside students even though they have no plan to actually accept them.

DISAPPOINTED. They wrote a really good mail at least.
