Accepted off the waitlist!!!!

I already posted my stats on the 19th of April, but this message is for those on the waitlist. I was also encouraged by a former MSW not to call-in the event that I had been waitlisted. There is no telling how much the waitlist will move. It depends what criteria the committee deems as important to assure that the class is diverse... that can mean academic interests and prior experience. I wish you all the best of luck.

Does anyone know how many people get accepted off of the University of Toronto MSW 2011 waitlist? I heard that there were 75 people on it. Thanks : )

To those who got off the wait list- congrats! I was just wondering if you did anything to try to help yourselves i.e. call/email send in additional references? I am currently on the wait list and wondering if doing something can actually help?

Was wait listed then accepted via phone call from Angela on May 26. The call was very brief "A spot has opened up on the wait list and we would like to offer you admission to the program, a package will be sent to you shortly and you will have 2 weeks to accept or decline." I'm so excited to begin this program!

Wondering if anyone waitlisted at U of T for the 2 year social work program has got an acceptance call? Anyone accepted to U of T turn it down?

Don't bother calling the department. They will not talk. They sound annoyed if you call and i'm afraid it will hurt my chances. They clearly find callers annoying.

they are not talking with people on the wait list so you don't have to call them and try to talk to them. they said too many people on the wait list to talk to everyone individually

I am wait-listed by U of T and got rejected by York University. I think the reason why the wait-list is not ranked is because there are 4 or 5 specializations (mainly in the second year), and acceptance will depend on which specialization needs more students that have experience and future goals set in that particular field.

Wait listed. 3.8 GPA. 2.5 years of community recreation experience, and completed a practicum with a YPO and the MCFD in B.C. BA in Crim.

I was accepted by mail on April 14..... I paid my tuition deposit and accepted the offer! undergrad gpa 85% 8 years of social work related full-time work experience Recent research experience and consistent volunteer experience in the social services for the past 4 years.

I will be accepting this offer!

A average (BA in Soc); 1.5 yrs diverse volunteer/work experience in social services. I was also rejected by Laurier and waitlisted by York.
