To the person asking about updates on NYU: I posted about the interview -- I had my interview about two weeks ago, and I'm still waiting to hear back on a decision. They didn't give me an exact timeline for the decision, just that it would take a couple of weeks. This is my second time applying to NYU American Studies. The first time I didn't get an interview. I don't know if they are doing staggered interviews, but what I do know is that they are notorious for taking a long time to send out rejection letters. The first time, I didn't hear back until April 1, after sending out multiple emails asking for a decision. The only reason I knew I had been rejected back then was because I saw someone post on social media that they had been accepted into the program.

Beginning to lose all hope. Is there anyone who heard anything?

Interviewed on Friday afternoon. Notice of acceptance from grad chair this morning. GPA is MA.

2 years pre-doc experience. Master in Economics (4.0 GPA)

No interview. Just got rejected.

GPA is master's. undergrad GPA is 3.83. aegean prehistory track. have 2 publications and 10 major national/international conferences, 3 years of field experience, currently lecturing in archaeology at a university. starting to think i'm just not good enough :/ 0a/3r/0w/0i/9p

IGNORE STATUS. During an info session, admissions people mentioned that PhD decisions would be sent out "in the next few weeks", that interviews/the process is still ongoing, and each department can admit 2 or more students per cycle. Hope this adds some clarity/eases people's trepidation!
