Information and Media Track. "The Executive Committee encourages you to apply again next year. I suggest you reach out to the appropriate Information and Media Ph.D. faculty to discuss your research interests and how they might fit with their research agendas prior to submitting your application." I previously reached out to my POI before submitting my application, and they kindly responded to my questions via email. They mentioned that my research interests align with theirs and encouraged me to apply, but were unable to meet over Zoom to ensure fairness for all applicants. No ideas why the committee suggests to apply again and discuss with them.

I received a very polite email indicating that they received over 150 applications for limited spots and encouraged me to apply for next year.

4.0 Master's GPA

Generic rejection. Confused because they wanted me to apply. 1st rejection of the cycle, it was bound to happen!

This was my top choice, I kinda expected this result because I saw on other platforms that some people got their acceptance and I didn't. No GRE required, No interview, Undergrad GPA: 3.5, Master's GPA 4.0. I'm not sad because this sign is not meant to be.
