No email notification. Randomly checked portal and there was a message: I regret to inform you that we cannot accept you for admission to the Comparative Literature - PhD program in Fall 2021. I would like you to know that this decision was reached by the program's admission committee after careful consideration and examination of all the materials you submitted. We very much appreciate the effort and time you spent in crafting and compiling your application and the interest you have shown in The Graduate Center. In recent years, we have received a large increase in the number of applications and our entering class size dictates that we must limit our acceptances to a small proportion of those seeking admission. We wish you success in your future academic pursuits.

Interviewed with CUNY on 3/30. Notified of waitlist on 4/14 after telling them I had another acceptance.

TTPB - Were you officially waitlisted? Or had you not received any official decision prior to you reaching out?

I was waitlisted at CUNY and reached out to the department to follow up on their decision. I received a nice personal message from the department head explaining the circumstances leading to them not being able to take me from the waitlist. Overall sucks, but the kindest rejection I could have gotten. Will be accepted an offer from CMU

To the Queens poster below, when were you notified that you were waitlisted? Do you also mind sharing who told you? I'm just so confused because I have yet to see anyone post anything about official acceptances/waitlists/rejections and don't understand what's going on with the program.

Is anyone off the waitlist and receive the offer from second round?

Just withdraw my application to CUNY. Made into 2nd round of interview and the admission committee indicated I am on the short list of people they intend to admit. They told me they expect to send out all first round offer by "early April".

Just heard I didn't make first round of admits and they are waiting to hear back until April 15. If you got in and don't really want to go there, please let them know! This is my only hope.
